The Buzz Spring Break

Would you look at the time, spring break is happening right about…now! And Altoona is THE place to spend it. As one of Iowa’s top tourism destinations, we’ve got a near-endless supply of things to do! Here are some of our favorites.

Stuff for the Adults…

Do A Little Bit of Everything at Prairie Meadows

Who said that spring break isn’t for grown-ups, too? Certainly not us. If you’re looking for a place that offers all sorts of adult-friendly entertainment options, you’ll want to stop by Prairie Meadows!

Play your way through 85,000 square feet of table games and slots in their state-of-the-art casino. Enjoy a wide variety of outstanding dining choices. Stay in one of their newly renovated hotel rooms. And most importantly, have a good time!

P.S. don’t forget to check out their extensive list of upcoming events!

Rock Out at Hawk Heaven Tavern’s St. Patrick’s Day Bash

Nothing says “spring break” quite like a party, especially when it’s on St. Patrick’s Day. But where in Altoona can you find such an event? Easy answer—at Hawk Heaven Tavern!

On March 17th, they’ll be hosting a “St. Patrick’s Day Bash”, featuring musical guests Mike Moody & the Outlaws. The fun starts at 8 p.m. Don’t miss out!

Stuff for the Whole Family…

Stay, Splash & Play at Adventureland Inn

Whether you’re traveling to Altoona for spring break or searching for a local “staycation” destination, Adventureland Inn is the place for you!

Want to make a splash? They’ve got 3 massive indoor pools, a swim-up bar, 2 hot tubs, and kids’ pools with shallow play areas.

Want to keep playing even after you’ve dried off? Adventureland Inn has an amazing arcade. Need to recharge after a long day of splashing and playing? Grab some food from Spectators Sports Bar & Grill, then settle in for the night in one of their comfy hotel rooms!

Find a Leprechaun in the Library

Rumor has it there’s a leprechaun hiding out in the Altoona Public Library! What’s more, there are plenty of reports of him stashing treasure throughout the building.

Stop by from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 17th to look for him and his pot o’ gold!
