Altoona Palooza Makes its Glorious, Muddy Return

After a pandemic-year hiatus, the community festival returns Saturday, August 28th at the Sam Wise Sports Complex. This year’s event features new activities, old favorites—and, of course, the infamous Mud Volleyball Tournament.

Doing the Dew? Stay in Altoona!

On May 20th-23rd, the world’s best skateboarders will roll, flip, grind, switch, slide and ollie their way into Des Moines, along with thousands of spectators, for Dew Tour 2021. If you plan on heading to Des Moines, you’ll need to find a place to stay—and you’ll want to hurry. Hotel rooms are going faster than Tony Hawk on a halfpipe.
