Rules and Points of Interest for Hawk Heaven Tavern Dart Tournament – Chicago Style

Entry Fees and Prize Pool

The tournament for Sunday, January 15th, 2023 will be a Chicago Style tournament. The tournament will begin at 1:00 p.m at the Hawk Heaven Tavern in Altoona, IA.

• The entry fee is $15 per person.
• Our version of Chicago Style will be one game of 501(Open In/Double Out) and Cricket, with the winner of the second game deciding a third game(if necessary).
• Paying your entry fee is the only way to reserve your place. Your entry fee may be paid in person or via Venmo @Kaydie-Boyd (please put Darts in subject line).
• 1st, 2nd, 3rd & 4th Place teams will be paid out based on number of entries with $100 added by Hawk Heaven Tavern!
• Everyone who enters will receive a token for a free drink.
• Anyone not present on the day of the tournament who has previously paid their entry fee will forfeit their entry and their first round opponent will be given a ‘Bye’.

Tournament Structure and Rules

• Have fun. Seriously. That’s what this is for. The Chicago Style tournament means each player will play a minimum of four games.
• The tournament is a double elimination, 16 team bracket.
• The pairings will be made by a blind draw of names at approximately 12:45.
• Match 1 will start at 1:00 p.m.
• The Tournament Director (Erik C.) will be responsible for entering cash into the machine and handing out payouts.
• All decisions by the Tournament Director are final.
• Again, have fun. Have a drink. BS with your buddies. This is not that serious.
