Altoona’s Fourth of July Parade
Celebrate America’s 250th with Altoona and roll on down to 8th Street this July 4th for Altoona’s star-spangled parade, hosted by the Altoona Area Historical Society! The 1.5-mile-long parade will begin at 10 a.m. on 8th Street near the Altoona Campus and will travel east on 8th Street to 3rd Avenue SE, where it turns north and disperses. After the parade, join us in Haines Park for live music and an ice cream social.
The Prairie Meadows Stars and Stripes Weekend
Prairie Meadows has a weekend full of fun ways for you to celebrate freedom—and for FREE, too. Catch live horseracing, an outdoor concert, trackside entertainment, and a spectacular fireworks show on July 3rd, all for FREE! After working up an appetite all day, head to AJ’s Steakhouse—they’ll be open until 11 p.m.
