Fly the Park 5k

Adventureland is hosting one of the most unique 5k races around in honor of National Roller Coaster Day. The Fly the Park 5k will take place at 10 a.m. on Friday, August 16. Instead of running a 5k, guests will be riding the distance of a 5k on one of the park’s roller coasters.
The Altoona theme park is hosting a contest on its Facebook page where guests can enter to win a chance to be one of the 20 participants in the 5k. The participants will ride the park’s newest roller coaster, Flying Viking, 13 times in a row, equaling the distance of a 5k. The contest is open from July 16-22. Winners will get 2 tickets to the park, parking pass, and a Flying Viking T-shirt.
This family-friendly roller coaster is the perfect adventure for kids and adults of all ages to share together. It debuted at the park in 2023 along with the Draken Falls log ride.
