Just off 8th St. SW and 34th Ave. SW, Hyper Energy Bar is a supercharged coffee shop. The owners, Iowa natives Mike and Chris Whalen, opened their first location in August 2021. Since then, their Hyper happiness has reached five locations across Iowa, with two more coming soon.
Hyper Energy Bar is serious about being espresso fast. They’ve got two drive-thru windows to prove it! And there’s no need to holler your drink order into a tiny speaker: tell the friendly faced energistas® what you’d like at the window, then sit back while they create your drink (and hype up your day, of course)!
Not big on caffeination? Not to worry: All the infused energy drinks at Hyper Energy Bar have an Italian soda substitute, and their smoothies, hot chocolate and lemonade drinks are also caffeine-free.
Also, there’s an exclusive sticker drop every first of the month and customers get a special sticker with every drink purchases. Even cooler? Hyper has used this as an opportunity to allow open design submissions and let the community contribute. You can submit a design of your own on Hyper Energy Bar’s website and your work could be a future sticker drop!
