The Buzz: RAGBRAI

the buzz: RAGBRAI

We’re pretty psyched about this cycling event. It’s legendary, it’s iconic, and it’s headed our way soon. That’s right…RAGBRAI (Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa) is coming to Altoona this year!

Here’s everything you need to know.

RAGBRAI riders will be passing through Altoona on July 27th from 5 a.m. to noon.

They’ll enter town from Des Moines on NE 27th Ave, turn north on 1st Ave S then east on Edwin W. Skinner Pkwy before heading to Mitchellville. (See the pic below.)

Head to Spring Creek Sports Complex for food, drinks, activities & more!

Altoona is an official breakfast stop for RAGBRAI. Luckily for the riders (and all of you wonderful spectators), our city sure knows how to host!

Spring Creek Sports Complex will have food and drink vendors on site, plus all sorts of fun activities for you to enjoy. And did we mention that the CORNival statues will be on display there, too?

This is going to be a BIG day. You do NOT want to miss it!

When we say, “a big day”, we really mean it. (Seriously, we’re expecting tens of thousands of people to show up.) This type of thing doesn’t happen every day, people!

Come cheer on the riders and let’s have some fun!
